I recently went on a 3 day backpacking trip with my gal pal @jasmineash to one of the most beautiful places in the southwest and I wanted to share some highlights with you. ⁣ ⁣ After canceling our trip to Havasu Falls last year due to flooding, we were really excited to finally get on the trail and see this place with our own eyes. We spent the first night sleeping in the car in the trailhead parking lot. We woke up early the next day and got on the trail at 5am, just as the sun was just coming up and lighting the canyon walls. The scenery hiking in was absolutely stunning, featuring high cliff walls and blooming cacti. Who else loves hiking through canyons? But that was just the appetizer for the main dish, Havasu Falls! We were elated upon arrival. It was even more beautiful than it looks in pictures. After we found a home for our tent in the campground, we set out on foot once again and backtracked 2 miles to the village, making pit stops at New Navajo Falls (my favorite) and 50 Foot Falls. ⁣ ⁣ The weather was mild, so we opted to soak our feet in the crystal blue water instead of going for a swim. We logged 17 miles that first day in our comfortable Eddie Bauer hiking shoes.  We had not a blister or a care in the world as we went to sleep (by 8pm) that night, resting up for more adventures to follow!⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣ -Note: This land belongs to the Havasupai Tribe, who've resided in this area for over 800 years.
