Well, there has to be something special about Deadvlei that draws countless visitors to this place every single day. Maybe it is the towering red dunes, the shades of red in the first light or the twisted forms against the flat white ground. This place is such a mystery. The short walk in the sand felt very exhausted but it was not the physical exertion that drew my breath away, it was the first sight of Deadvlei. Trees of Deadvlei are more than 900 years old situated in a white clay pan. You are not allowed to touch the trees and you can tell that a few visitor were irresponsible when they visited because of broken branches and multiple “DO NOT TOUCH” signs around the area. If everybody plays their part, this and many other beautiful landscapes around the world will last. Without help and respecting nature, what is will cease to be and we will all be forced to view the trees from rope walkways or even worse, it will only be a memory through photographs.
