I'd never heard someone describe vulnerability, courage, shame, and authenticity so clearly. ⁣ ⁣ I'd written an excerpt from a Theodore Roosevelt speech in the front page of my journal after moving to Perth as a 17 year old to chase my dream of playing professional rugby. So, a few pages into Daring Greatly, I got so excited when I realised Brené Brown had used the same excerpt from that speech (Citizenship in a Republic) in her book.⁣ ⁣ In a culture that doesn't encourage us to talk about or know how we feel, Brené's worked prodded me to look at my own life.
