Photo by @bertiegregory | A Gray whale lifts its tail flukes to dive in the shallow waters off the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Gray whales breed in the warm tropical warmers off the coast of Mexico. They then migrate north to richer waters to feed. Although the individual pictured decided to spend the summer off the coast of British Columbia, some Grays head all the way up to Alaska on one of the longest mammal migrations on the planet.
