Stella’s work strives to promote freedom from social stereotypes and rules and is strikingly beautiful. ‘The project started off as a self-heal process. Following a painful breakup and in need to a solution, I had to find a way to stop the hurt and to move forward. I had such an incredible amount to deal with, born from feeling abandoned, and which brought my self esteem down a lot. My natural reaction was to turn to the only real thing left in my life at the time, my camera. I turned to my camera and decided to shoot people in love. It was a brutal solution to fixing my pain, working that closely with a level of intimacy that was painful.
