Growing up in the Gulf Coast town of Clearwater, Florida, in the most densely populated county in the southeastern United States, Caladesi Island State Park was where I would go to experience the original nature of my home. Thankfully, Caladesi is one of 175 State Parks that protect and provide access to Florida’s hidden treasures. This photograph is one of my favorites. I walked north two miles from Clearwater Beach.
