This week, I missed both National Unicorn Day and National Siblings Day, so I think that makes me the worst Instamom ever. Mazzy was particularly mad because she made me put National Unicorn Day in my calendar weeks ago. Then Harlow got upset because apparently someone in her class has her birthday on Easter this year and Harlow wants her birthday on a holiday too. I said it’s better to claim the day as your own than having to share it with a holiday, but Harlow wasn’t sold. She wanted to know if it was possible for her birthday to ever fall on Thanksgiving. I said no because Thanksgiving is always the last Thursday in November so that would never be on November 15th. This was devastating news to her, so I googled November 15th to see if any fake Instagram holidays fell on that date. “Hey Harlow! This is exciting! Your birthday is the same day as National Recycling Day!” “Mom! That is not exciting at all!!!” “It’s also National Clean Out your Refrigerator Day!” “That’s terrible!” “National Raisin Bran Cereal Day?” “I hate raisins!” (These are all real things, by the way.) “Oh! I found one a good one! It’s National Bundt Day!” “What’s a bundt?” “It’s a cake that’s kind of shaped like a large doughnut and usually has powdered sugar on top.” “Okay. That’s good.” PHEW. “Mazzy! My birthday is on National Bundt Day!!!” “Really? What’s on my birthday, Mom?” Checks google. Ummm... “National Anti-Corruption Day?”
