#tbt to my very 1st Masters in 2005 with my bro (@mrjean68) on the bag. I couldn’t have been more excited to be finally playing in The Masters, something I had dreamed about thousands of times as a young boy growing up. My excitement led to some decent golf, opening up with a 1st round 68, but backed up rather disappointingly with a 77 on day 2! I played nicely on Saturday shooting 69 to lie somewhere in the top 20. .
On Sunday I went out in 1 over par and on the 10th hole, hit my approach left of the green and made a sloppy double bogey and for the first time all week I was over par for the tournament. .
As I walked off the 11th tee, my head slightly down, a fan (sorry patron!) heckled me from the crowd. It caught me off guard to be honest. I was playing with Tim Herron that day & I will always remember his caddie Scotty Steele (RIP) went straight over to the patron and gave him an earful. I always appreciated what Scotty did that day!

The point of the story is that in a weird way I want to thank that heckler - I went from feeling a bit down and sorry for myself to being fired up. I chipped in for birdie on 11, eagled 13, eagled 15 and nearly made a hole in one on 16, tapping in for birdie. After double bogeying 10, I played the next 8 holes in 6 under, finishing 5 under for the event and T3rd. It was probably one of the greatest stretches of golf I’ve ever had on a golf course & it came on Sunday on the back nine of my very 1st Masters. What dreams are made of.....#talesfromaugusta
