Every time I see any significant swath of green space in a big city, I feel so grateful that someone stood up for nature. That somebody fought for that piece of green to exist in a city where land is so expensive that developers want to build on every square inch of it to maximize their profit. Open space is so important. We’re part of Nature, not at war with it, not here to take advantage of it. The earth holds us and we are invited to hold her high in return; relationships require reciprocity, an exchange, a mutuality.
