“Just Weird Clothes” is the tongue-in-cheek title she gave to her first 14-piece unisex collection, which blends cowboys and ’70s San Francisco hippies with ornate Pekingese opera costumes and its mythological phoenixes. Penultimate underscores the beauty of the American immigrant experience, and how the melting pot can still create something spectacular.
