Billy Skinner, a drover who herds livestock for a living, on the Dulbydilla stock route in Queensland, #Australia, in November. Skinner was droving cattle trucked from a #drought-affected area to a place they could feed. “Kids that have grown up in the bush and seen what their parents faced—the ones with any brains are packing up their gear and going,” laments Skinner, 54, from Warialda, New South Wales. “The bush is losing its children.” His 17-year-old son, Jim, is one of them. After Australia's summer ends, he will head to Sydney to study law. “No matter how hard you work," Jim says, "you still can’t make it rain."
