Weakened by the conditions, sheep and cattle become vulnerable. When they venture into dried-up creeks, they get trapped in the mud. Crows peck out their eyes and giant monitor lizards eat them alive. Farmers spend their days protecting the #animals as best they can and nights dealing with paperwork and repairs to their sprawling properties.
