Swipe left to see the entire view. Stars emerge into a colorful dusk above a massive stack along the Great Ocean Road in Australia. An adventurous story happened here 3 decades ago. Erosion by the Southern Ocean gradually changes the soft cliff limestone to caves, then arches which collapse to stacks. Located in the Port Campbell National Park this rock was formerly known as London Bridge. Until 1990 it has a complete double-span natural bridge. The sharp edge facing you was connected to the main land with an arch. When it collapsed in January 1990 left two tourists stranded on the outer span before being rescued by police helicopter.
The bright “star” in the second slide is planet Venus. The yellow light on the clouds in the far right (third slide) is light pollution from two nearby gas plants in Waare, Victoria.
