Darwin Day is a celebration to commemorate the birthday of Charles Darwin on 12 February 1809. The day is used to highlight Darwin's contributions to science and to promote science in general. Darwin Day is celebrated around the world.

I missed the day, (not sure how) but, it happened and I still wanted to share pictures from my book on Evolution, A Visual Record.

1.) A portrait of Darwin by Julia Margaret Cameron on the Isle of Wight.
2.) Some of the Birds that Darwin Collected in the Galapagos Islands.
3.) A Jocobim Pigeon, the species that Darwin raised.
4.) One of the many pigeon boxes that Darwin studied for morphological changes.
5.) A patient suffering from Multidrug-resistant TB. The photo was used in the story that I shot on Charles Darwin.
Multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis (TB) infection caused by bacteria that are resistant to treatment with at least two of the most powerful first-line anti-TB. Some forms of TB are also resistant to second-line medications and are called extensively drug-resistant TB. This was an example of the well-worn term "Survival of the Fittest" in the @ナショナルジオグラフィック story "Was Darwin Wrong? No." @atedge #Darwin #evolution #DarwinDay
