Another few pictures from a story in the February @ナショナルジオグラフィック. The first is close up of a skull from one of the 269 bodies that have been recovered in one of the largest child sacrifice sites ever discovered. @ancient.huanchaco started to excavate the site which is near #Huanchaco #Peru. The bodies date from the #ChanChan period (1420 CE) of the people know as the Chimu. The second image is of one of the bodies wrapped in a shroud that is being excavated.
