Photo by @Tim Laman. Gentoo Penguins leap out of the water as they approach Useful Island in Antarctica. This behavior, known as porpoising, allows them to catch a breath without slowing down and to see the land ahead, and I love the challenge of trying to capture them in mid-air. To capture an image like this, I try to see the penguins beneath the water and track them and start shooting before they come up.
