Whether it is using the husk to make rope, fashioning the outer shell into a ladle, or slicing off a hard spoon to scrape the white meat from the inside. During our journey through the region we saw how this bountiful resource is integrated into culture and commerce. In this image, a local villager from Dambulla is opening the orange fruit/nut/seed to access the sweet water.
