After he applauded at his own State of the Union address in 2018, Donald Trump went viral. This year, it was @speakerpelosi who got all the applause online. For those watching #SOTU at home, the moment was so brief you might have missed it. But @ニューヨーク・タイムズ photographer Doug Mills didn't: @nytmills captured an image of #Trump appearing to turn back to face #Pelosi as she clapped with outstretched arms. Some Trump critics came to the immediate conclusion that she was trolling the president. As always, in the grand tradition of photographs that become #memes, people see what they want to see.
