Tokaido Shinkansen: The busiest high-speed train line in the world, connecting Tokyo and Osaka. This, the first bullet train line in Japan, opened in 1964, just in time for the Tokyo Olympics. Before the Shinkansen, a conventional train took 6 hours and 30 minutes to complete the trip, now the latest N700 trains can complete the trip in as little as 2 hours and 25 minutes.
