BRAC provided a home for her to become a mentor and gain the knowledge to begin a honey business. From her savings, Ruth paid her school fees and re-enrolled in school. She is seen here studying with her best friend in her high school in #Uganda.
When girls like Ruth are given the opportunity to enroll in school, the world can change. Educated girls are less likely to marry young or contract HIV. They are more likely to have healthy, educated children. When a country gives all its children secondary education, they cut their risk of war in half. The Brookings Institution also calls secondary schooling for girls the most cost-effective and best investment against #climatechange.
Girls education is a powerful force and the best investment we can make in our global future.
