#JosephBeuys’s landmark retrospective in 1979 took the form of a museum-wide, site-specific installation organized in 24 "stations." Following a semi-fictional biography Beuys had constructed for himself, the exhibition featured symbolically charged sculptural forms and works on paper that testified to the artist’s past actions, his own mythic life-narrative, and his belief in the therapeutic power of individual creativity.
