TORTOISESHELL. Choose this gloss if you have bronde (between brown and blonde) hair or if you have brown hair with subtle highlights and you want to enhance the warmth. Gloss works on both color-treated and non-color-treated hair. For those asking if they can be used to cover grey, the answer is NO. These are translucent and won’t do anything for your greys. MY BEST ADVICE: 1. If you have highlights, choose your gloss based on the lightest pieces of your hair because those are going to be impacted the most. 2. If you’re confused, start with Crystal Quartz for shine or ask your hairstylist if they think one of these would be right for you. 3. Always stay within your “level family”, meaning if you’re blonde, don’t use a brunette gloss to go darker. Leave big changes to a pro. This isn’t a traditional boxed hair color, it’s just a toning gloss, so it’s not going to color your hair for a prolonged period of time and you could have an awkward fade-out if you jump to another level family. If you’re blonde, pick a blonde gloss. If you’re a bronde (between blonde and brown), pick a bronde gloss. If you’re brunette, pick a brunette gloss. If your hair has copper/gold tones, pick the copper gloss. If you want pure shine and no color, pick the clear gloss!
