Brian Eno invented a dadaist type game called “Oblique Strategies” for the studio where you’d draw a card and it would assign you random instructions (use a broken instrument, collage newspapers for the lyrics, incorporate an old idea, try a different time signature, etc) and this was popular with artists from Bowie to MGMT, as it encouraged lateral thinking and helped bust writers block. Pretttttty, pretty neat... (in Larry David’s voice)
