Nima is from Phortse. With his wife, 2 sons and 2 daughters he tends several small fields for potatoes and barley. For income Nima has worked on Everest and sister peaks for the past 30 years. While 5 summits might seem like a stack, it’s the numerous other expeditions that Nima has worked on that make him exceptional.
During the @Khumbu mbuclimbingcenter Nima is the lunch cook. In the middle of the ice climbing “school room” is a big rock. Here Nima fires up a cauldron of ramen and brews enough tea to serve 80 climbers. It’s communal - being your own bowl, spoon and cup and share lunch.
