Photo @Keith Ladzinski / A small flock of #adelie #penguins cueing up as they consider making the plunge into the icy waters of Antarctica to hunt for krill. I’m speaking for myself here when I refer to the waters as “icy”, for these animals it’s simply just a day-to-day norm and their insulated bodies have the rest all sorted out. To get this photo I was dressed in a well insulated dry suit, laying in wait patiently for about 30 minutes as these cute penguins moved in around me. With numb toes, hands and face I was very thankful when the flock decided it was time to make the plunge. Photographed on assignment for @ナショナルジオグラフィック @sealegacy
