Photo by @クリス・バーカード Vast mountainscapes and endless skiing. Those are usually the things associated with the Rocky Mountain range in Colorado. But at the base of the 14,000 ft Sangre De Cristo mountains lies the largest dune in America, the Star Dune. It’s a place of extremes, with temperatures that can range from -20 to 150 degrees fahrenheit depending on the season. It wasn’t until last year while teaching a photography workshop that I was able to stand on top of the Star Dune for the first time, but it certainly won’t be my last.
