Meet the humphead wrasse (Cheilinus undulatus). This whopping fish is distinguished by its plump lips and bump in its forehead; it can grow up to 2.3 meters long (7.5 feet) and weigh as much as 191 kilograms (421 pounds)! You can try to spot this critter around coral reefs in Indo-Pacific waters, but it’s a rare sight in the wild and becoming even more rare due to over-fishing. In its reef habitat, the humphead wrasse dines on mollusks, urchins, and sea stars—it’s one of the few fish immune to the toxins of the crown-of-thorns sea star!
