This is my dad. Today is his birthday, but he’s kinda stopped aging, since 6 years ago when he went to heaven.
In honor of his birthday I thought I’d share just a couple things my dad taught me:
❤️”Always leave people better off for having been in your presence.” - leave people happier, more encouraged, feeling better about themselves, more loved. ❤️Always have a clean car - he taught me to detail my car once a week. ❤️”no matter what happens, goes wrong, just laugh it off and say you’re making memories” - example: when Jordan was little he found my dad’s spray paint and painted “pin striping down the side of my car as well as our cocker spaniel...my dad busted up laughing saying “awwww, we’re makin’ memories!” ❤️”Always make everything fun! When you walk in the room, you gotta make it fun!” ❤️Never say you have a “problem”, say it’s a “challenge”, because challenges can be overcome. ❤️”Make today better than yesterday”- he’d say this all the time. No matter how awful your yesterday was, make today better. ❤️I also used to hate my nose. My whole life I wanted my nose to look like my moms. But right after my dad died when all I wanted to do was hear his voice and see his face, I looked into the mirror and I saw my dad’s nose and in that moment, for the first time I loved seeing my dad’s nose, right there on my face. ❤️I miss him every day. I wish I could call him and hear him laugh and ask his advice. I wish I could feel him hug me and feel like I was in the safest place and everything would be alright.
He used to send me funny texts & inspirational things everyday...I miss getting those. ❤️If you’ve lost a loved one too...you decide that you’ll live BIGGER, BOLDER, BRAVER & BETTER...in their honor. Life is short, live it to the fullest, especially in honor and for the ones waiting to hug us in heaven.
Happy Earthly birthday...to the guy that taught me to always work hard, always laugh everything off and always make life fun.
