A naming ceremony was just held for the child pictured here, bestowing upon him the name “Mohammed.” Mohammed doesn’t know it yet, but he’s a very lucky boy. He will grow up strong and healthy with a nutritious diet. If he were born a few years earlier, this may not have been the case.
Mohammed’s mother works in their village’s gardening group, and they just received a #solar #irrigation system from the Solar Electric Light Fund (@solarfund). This irrigation system will ensure that the village’s crops will flourish and all the local babies will grow up chubby and happy. #agriculture #benin #babies #children #africa #everydayafrica #empowerment
