Photo by @クリス・バーカード One of my favorite parts about aerial photography is how it can give you an uncommon perspective. Especially in mountainous zones you gain the ability to see areas and features that would otherwise take days to reach by foot. This pristine alpine lake in the heart of the Southern Alps of New Zealand is a great example. Frozen and snowed over for most of the year, it’s only in the summer months that these hidden gems reveal themselves. There are hundreds of these scattered throughout the region, and their waterfalls are responsible for feeding the braided glacial rivers thousands of feet below.
