“An empty building on a hill and abandoned boats are all that remain at Rahmanlu Port in Ajab Shir County, in East Azerbaijan province. Historically, Rahmanlu was a popular resort not merely for locals, but also for the Qajar kings and their entourage. Additionally, the port was a significant trade hub for merchants who would ship their goods to Rahmanlu, where freight trains were available to transport them to central Iran.

Before the drought, cars traveling from Tabriz to Urmia would queue up on the pier, loading onto a ferry that cut hours off the drive around the lake. Now the locals see the port area as a ‘boat cemetery.’” - @newshatavakolian
