Stop at the Red Canyon Overlook 24 miles south of Lander to enjoy one of the most scenic vistas in #Wyoming. The canyon was formed some 60 million years ago during the uplift of the Wind River range to the west. As the sedimentary rocks tilted, the more easily erodible rocks were removed by the action of water, creating the canyon that we see today. Photographer Ken Henke waited years to capture this perfect shot of a vibrant #sunset over the canyon. Of the photo he says, “Almost miraculously, the clouds shifted and spread out across the sky providing one of the most amazing light shows I've ever observed. I've photographed hundreds of sunsets from California to Florida, but I don't believe I'll ever witness anything quite like this particular evening at Red Canyon,” he said. Great work, Ken!
