If you're motivated and willing to take risks, you can take alternate, unsanctioned routes to create some space for your imagery and your ideas. Some of the best spaces to take over are the semi-vacant billboards that don't presently contain advertising, just signage highlighting their availability: "Your ad here." Of course, that's just another ad in and of itself, but if you take the phrase strictly at face value it's a nice invitation. - Shepard
