Brian’s an energetic wiry “Dapper Dan” type who blew my mind with his knowledge of and passion for hats.
As Brian plopped several hats on my head, he excitedly detailed the significant changes in hat making over the years. -Holly just giggled. Tickled by the unexpected flurry of info being hurled our direction at rapid fire speed. ( which just encouraged Brain’s historical story telling )
As Brian morphed the wide brimmed hat into a myriad of styles by a swoop of the hand here and a push of hand there, both Holly and I oohed and ahhhed. Brian’s a gifted salesman for sure but his throw-back attire, dazzling smile, twinkly eyes, knowing smile and flare indicate to me the qualities of a natural “showman” which too, is a lost art.- He even sang us a little Stapleton! Just short of Fossey jazz hands and a chorus, we had a full on theatrical experience. I love that! I love seeing people in their element. It gives me joy. •
