Today a PA court deemed #BillCosby a Violent Sexual Predator before sentencing him. REMINDER: For decades people maligned &decried his accusers as LIARS. It took 60+ accusers to finally bring his survivors justice &vindication. Have we learned nothing? We know that the percentage of accusations made that are false is 3%. 97% of accusations are true. Why do we automatically believe the accused? The agony & torment & trauma & shame that survivors live with is so debilitating that most can’t bring themselves to go through the revictimizing that comes with going public. The instinct to protect ones family from the pain and upheaval of going public stops most from seeking justice. And the consequences are far reaching, as seen with Dr Ford. After the assault she went through a personality change, her grades suffered, she ultimately moved across country to start over and get as far away from any reminders of the event as she could. She dedicated her professional work to understanding trauma. She finally told her husband while talking to a psychiatrist. It’s in the Doctor’s notes. When she realized her attacker might be bestowed with the highest responsibility and power over all the laws that shape our society she felt compelled as a citizen to come forward. The Supreme Court Justices are supposed to be the judges with unmatched integrity. She knew #BrettKavanaugh to be otherwise. She passed a polygraph.Kavanaugh refuses to retake a polygraph. She asked that the FBI investigate. Kavanaugh has not asked for the FBI to investigate. Ask yourself why. Does it make sense that someone lying woukd ask to be investigated by the FBI?
