While her name means tender or delicate, Komali rules over her herd with an iron trunk, making sure the youngsters respect their elders. Across many parts of Asia, development has led to a loss of elephant habitat threatening the survival of this species. No wonder why Komali is so tough! @wrs.ig supports programs like the Elephant Response Unit in Sumatra, Indonesia protecting elephants like Komali through reducing tensions between elephants and local community members.
