It still hits me unexpectedly but tonight I really miss my dad. It’s been almost five months now but it still seems like yesterday. This bench was where we had our last conversation. I came back to it so many times after his passing. This photo was from the last time I got to sit here. I brought his pen and my journal and wrote for so long that day. What a whirlwind of a year. In all of it, the missing doesn’t go away. I still pick up my phone sometimes and start dialing his number. It’s weird with those little things. I know he’s always with me in spirit but I still miss his voice more than ever. Thank you all for your patience in my journey this year. You’ve walked alongside of me in all of it and that’s really humbling. Even on days where the ache is felt, my heart is ever grateful and still full of hope. Life is precious. May we nurture and appreciate all the sweet moments that were gifted. They’re miracles.
