It’s the middle of the night over here and I’m staying up while my love works a late shift because I worry and this way we can chat throughout the night. It’s something I always did with him and it’s one of those little things that is just special with us. I’m a night owl anyway so it’s not too much of a stretch for me. This would be a great time to journal but instead I was flipping through old photos and found this one that I never shared here. It was from earlier in the spring, the calm before the storm of my dad’s sudden departure. I had just started writing in my @pegandawl Harper Journal, which has now now long been completed since then. It’s interesting looking at that blank page now. I had no idea what that day would capture, let alone the coming months. I know I’ve been reminiscing frequently these days but that’s what change inspires. Looking back at where I once walked to the road I’m currently on now. We endure, don’t we? Somehow, some way. It makes me ever grateful for the moments of laughter, beauty, little details and blessings that grace us each day. There’s always a silver lining and that in itself is a miracle. May miracles abound aplenty for all of us as we approach a new solstice ahead. From my mug to yours, cheers everyone.
