Listen up, on April 15th, 7 people lost their lives in Lee Correctional Institution during an avoidable riot which happened as a result of inhumane living conditions. Overcrowded conditions are commonplace across the US due to a penal system which is based on profit, greed, racism and a lack of respect for human life.

That is why incarcerated women and men & gender non-confirming people across the country are striking until September 9th, to demand humane living conditions, access to rehabilitation and the end of modern day slavery.

You can help in many ways; educate yourself by reading the strike demands and learning about the racist history of the US penal system, donate to the official strike fund, promote on social media by using the hashtags #prisonstrike, join or organize a solidarity rally.

The prison industrial complex is at the core of white supremacy. We have a choice and chance to do better.
