The Mystical Valley

The painter’s heart beats in his brush, the musician’s in his instrument, the poet’s in his pen and mine in my camera. I do not ‘become’ a photographer, I am permanently a photographer. I take my photographs from day to day – chance moments which the eye often captures before the mind. At the entrance to the Panjshir Valley, a bastion of the Afghan resistance, the old way through the valley consisted of a dirt track running along the side of the river. Each of the traveler’s steps kicked up clouds of dust.
