Motherhood is the easiest and hardest thing I’ve ever done. It changes me every day. Raising her raises me up and humbles me at the same time. .

We spend a lot of time on the floor these days. She likes to lie down flat on the ground, any place, any time. Especially if she gets upset or if she’s trying to grasp something new (I don’t like the word tantrum) - she plops herself down and refuses to get up. So I lie down with her. Hold her hand until she’s ready. Suddenly the moment is over and she hops up and laughs and we continue with our day. It’s so interesting, allowing her to flow through whatever comes.
Right now she is at daycare and I don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing. She cries when we drop her off but when we pick her up she is so joyful. She loves playing with other kids. She’s learning her fourth and fifth languages there. One day she will go to school and I feel intuitively that it’s good for her to spend a few hours a day in a group. But at the same time I agonize over it - she doesn’t actually have to be there. It’s separation and right now, unnecessary. She could be home, with me, every day.
This is what parenting is like. An endless back and forth, wondering what’s right and what’s wrong. I have no idea. All I know is that lying flat on the ground, her hand in mine, in the strangest of places... It’s the best part of my day. #motherhood
