It’s intended to protect the wearer along their journey. “It would be silly and misleading of me to call this a bullet proof vest, but it is true that what you wear helps to up your energy as well as keep yourself in tuned. You can't be too in-tuned with what anybody tells you because you're still looking for yourself.” #Afropunk is a unique music festival in that attendees aren't so much wearing costumes as they are speaking a piece of their truth through apparel.
