Daryl McPherson, Brooklyn "What inspired me to create the durag? Well, someone said something negative about it and that caught my attention. So I thought I'd do something different and I searched for the longest durag ever made. It was a mission. When I found it, I added my own twist to it. That's what I do. It took about two days to throw the diamonds on. I don't make clothes, but whenever Afropunk comes up, I have to do something." Every year around the world black creatives travel to Paris, London, Johannesburg, Atlanta or Brooklyn to attend #Afropunk, a music festival that unites people from the African diaspora to celebrate and champion blackness in all of its musical and artistic expressions, past and present. ? by @HelloBunni
