A young leopard, resting in the heat of the day in South Africa’s #Timbavati. Leopards are remarkably strong, they can leap at horizontal distances upwards of 20 feet when ambushing prey and then drag the kill into trees. Their spots, known as rosettes due to the resemblance to roses, serve as remarkable camouflage in the bush. I’m fascinated with all big cats, but in my opinion leopards are among the most beautiful.
