A meadow of #cornLilly carpeting the forest floor of #KeblerPass in #Colorado. These plants were just over 6 feet tall and surrounded by old growth #Aspen Trees, the largest grove in the state of Colorado. When you look closely at corn Lilly it’s a remarkable design, the giant leaves spiral and fan out in way that catches every drop of moisture possible and funnels it to it’s root system. In the colder times of the day these leaves wrap up tightly into bulbs to conserve heat. A thriving ecosystem and an easy place to feel small as you walk inside. @natgeocreative
