When I tell people my parents were heroin addicts they picture the stuff you see on TV. My mom was a functioning addict though she always looked good, dressed nice and her hair was always done. She was soft spoken but if you crossed her she would take you out. I remember as a child seeing her get into fist fights at the laundromat and at the methadone clinic. Me and my sister standing at the side like ummmm..... ?. Did you ever see the movie “El Cantante” my mom was Puchi. Every time I see that movie I miss her. She kept my dad together and she ran stuff but was always dressed to the 9’s and classy. We have the same body type, I remember watching her putting on her make-up in a bra and panties dancing to earth, wind and fire thinking “I hope my butt never gets that big” ?. Of all my siblings I think I resemble her the most, personality, the same too which is most likely why we didn’t get along.

She passed a while back from Hepatitis, my dad shared a needle with someone else and then fixed for her using that same needle. She was only 43 when she passed her time was cut so short. She was sick for a while and I remember being so mad that they were so irresponsible. At the time of her passing we were not speaking, I was mad at her for things she could not control. Something I regret daily but I’ve work through now. I miss her today, I miss being able to run home when things don’t go right. ? Her Birthday just passed this week. Hey mommy I really miss you!
