It’s raining cats and dogs, and probably little whales and moose too. It hasn’t stopped even for a second and we have taken refuge in a never ending #brunch. The table I set this morning for breakfast has never been cleared; some ingredients have been consumed, some removed, others added. Fresh eggs from the chicks, soft boiled (four minutes after the boiling makes them just perfectly gooey), home smoked salmon, butter, avocado.
Later we got bored and made #waffles, had it both sweet and savory, first with jams of various berries, cherries and plums from the garden. Then with cheese, gherkins and more salmon! I have fallen in love with #Brunost — the Norwegian brown cheese. They have it almost at every meal, and I can’t blame them. It’s basically a soft caramel color whey cheese. I was glad to discover that topping the waffle with this Gudbrandsdalsost is completely accepted.
So the banquet is still available if you wanna join us. Please pour yourself some coffee if you find us chilling on the couch, with a blanket.
The window is open and the soundtrack is the river rushing into the fiord while the rain keeps pouring down. Some birds occasionally chip, it’s the most blissful sound of silence. I am busy doing something I was not able to do for month; writing. My chaotic mind is surrendering to the calm and quiet. Concentration slowly finds its way back to my head. ☕️?????☔️
