The technical finesse can be taught and practiced like anything else. But the real challenge comes in knowing a river, its seasonal ebb and flow, and the life force that flows with it. The best fishermen i’ve met seemingly become part of their local river, mirroring its slow, graceful meander in their movements. That’s the beauty I see in fly-fishing.
