Photo by @jonathan_irish // I can’t say that I was ever really scared of sharks...but like many people, I grew up having reservations about swimming with them. Hollywood has a large part to play in this, as sharks are one of their favorite villains. But the more you are in the water with these beautiful creatures the more you realize just how special and amazing they are. And they really have no interest in humans beyond a simple curiosity. I try to get in the water as much as possible with them...to see them gracefully swim near you is a sight of which I will never tire. These blacktip reef sharks were shot on a recent French Polynesia assignment on the island of Rangiroa. Have you had the privilege of being in the water with sharks?
