Wednesday: Ensaïmada, a pastry from Mallorca (an island in the Mediterranean that’s part of Spain ??) traditionally made with lard and these are no different! Mine are cut open and filled with thick chilled vanilla custard and served with some frozen strawberries (mash them with a fork for a dreamy treat on a hot summers day) and a cup of milky filter coffee. Plates are from Jingdezhen and the cups are from @odeceramics
